Who We Are
No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent place to live. We deserve strength and stability day after day. We deserve to know we have the power to take care of ourselves and build our own futures.
At Habitat for Humanity, this is what unites us. Founded in Americus, Georgia, USA, in 1976, Habitat for Humanity today operates around the globe and has helped build, renovate and repair more than 600,000 decent, affordable homes worldwide. Habitat now works in 1,400 communities across the U.S. and in nearly 70 countries and has helped 6.8 million people achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter.
In the 32 years since its founding, NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity has helped to accomplish this goal by building, renovating or repairing 506 homes in its service area — Cobb, Douglas and Paulding counties — and by supporting the building of over 350 homes in Uganda, their international tithing partner.
