Reimagine ATL’s artistic vision centers on advancing equity and excellence in media arts by cultivating original storytelling rooted in lived experience, technical mastery, and cultural relevance. Our work positions young creators not only as learners, but as emerging artists whose voices and perspectives meaningfully contribute to the creative media field. This vision is shaped collaboratively by professional Teaching Artists, organizational leadership, industry mentors, and youth participants. Teaching Artists are practicing filmmakers, animators, writers, and producers with professional credits and awards who guide students using industry-standard workflows, artistic benchmarks, and critique practices. Youth participants actively shape program content through story development, peer feedback, and reflection, ensuring programming remains artistically authentic and responsive to the communities we serve. Our artistic vision is realized through a sequenced pipeline of programs that emphasize artistic rigor, creative risk-taking, and professional standards. Participants engage in narrative development, visual language, sound design, editing, and production management while creating original films and media projects. Programs culminate in completed works that are publicly screened, included in professional portfolios, and evaluated using rubrics aligned with industry expectations for storytelling clarity, technical execution, originality, and audience impact. We integrate artistic excellence with workforce preparation. Students do not create simulated projects; they produce real work for public audiences and professional clients, bridging the gap between education and professional practice. Our employment social enterprise, re:imagine/PRODUCTIONS, further extends this vision by providing paid, mentored production opportunities that reinforce artistic quality, accountability, and real-world application. Participants often face challenges that can impact workforce training completion, including transportation barriers, financial instability, competing work obligations, housing insecurity, mental health concerns, and limited access to professional networks. What distinguishes Reimagine ATL is our wraparound supports including mentorship, transportation assistance, technology access, career coaching, wellness resources, and individualized participant support. Regular check-ins help identify challenges early and connect participants with appropriate resources. We systematically break down barriers that exclude young creatives from the workforce.

Reimagine is an education and workforce development nonprofit preparing underrepresented young creatives to step into media and entertainment careers by providing career exposure, training, mentorship, and job opportunities. We develop diverse digital media talent that powers Atlanta’s growing content economy across: - Film & TV - Sports & Arenas - Tourism & Hospitality - Corporate & Brand Marketing - Local Government & Public Communications - Live Entertainment & Events Reimagine ATL is a nonprofit that equips underrepresented youth with the tools, training, and mentorship to thrive in the media and entertainment industry. Through hands-on programs in filmmaking, journalism, digital storytelling, and production, Reimagine has served over 7,500 students at more than 45 schools, helping them build careers and confidence in one of the world's most influential industries. At Reimagine, we believe talent is everywhere - but opportunity is not. For 12 years, we've worked to close that gap by opening doors for the next generation of storytellers. We're more than an arts nonprofit - we're a community-powered launchpad for young creatives, equipping them with the skills, mentorship, and access they need to step into and thrive within careers in film, media, and emerging technologies like AI. Reimagine ATL’s programs emphasize artistic rigor and professional standards. Student work is developed through structured critique, mentor feedback, and industry-aligned rubrics used by professional filmmakers and media artists. Final projects are publicly screened, included in professional portfolios, and evaluated for narrative clarity, technical execution, originality, and cultural relevance. As our programs and impact have expanded, Reimagine has been recognized for its work. In 2017, the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation asked Reimagine to participate in an international, 84-city STEM Learning Ecosystem Community of Practice and to lead city-wide efforts to facilitate STEAM achievement by all 611,000 students in Metro Atlanta. In 2019 we were selected into Stand Together Foundation’s Catalyst. Beyond funding, this selection recognized our organization, and our leadership, for the creativity and the dynamic way in which it drives change in our community. From 2020 to 2022, we partnered with the Arthur M. Blank Foundation and Alliance for Media Arts & Culture to create a formal apprenticeship pipeline for emerging talent in Georgia. A key part of this partnership is administering the first federally registered apprenticeship in the state for media production and post-production.
