Five elementary schools in Clayton County are getting a brand new Mental Health Center as part of United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Brighter Futures Clayton initiative. And we need volunteers to help build out the space, and make it extra great for the kids!
United Way of Greater Atlanta’s mission to improve child well-being ensures that all children in Atlanta have access to the mental health resources they need, with a special focus on our red zones – those areas most in need. So, what will the new space be used for? Private counseling for students and parents, play therapy, and all things social, emotional, and behavioral health.
We’ll provide on-site instructions and all materials necessary, including music and water for our volunteers! Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get paint on them. No power tools will be used. Volunteers must be 12 years or older.
