The CFR is a Cobb County-based organization that works exclusively to serve local families and individuals that are either homeless or in danger of becoming homeless.
For more than 30 years, the Center for Family Resources has brought the community together to collect food items to include in holiday food boxes distributed to low-income, Cobb County families during the Thanksgiving break. Boxes include the ingredients for families to cook their own traditional holiday meal. Additionally, since the week of Thanksgiving can be a strain on families’ food budgets while children are home from school, they provide extras like breakfast food, pasta and peanut butter for those added meals.
On Wednesday, November 20th, volunteers are needed to assist with the "Drop-off" piece of the event. They will be unloading food from trucks, sorting donations, and packing food boxes for the agency to distribute at a later date.
**Minimum age requirement is 14 to volunteer at drop-off. Must be able to stand for periods of time and lift items frequently.**
