Join us on June 20th from 12pm-1:30pm to kick-off our Unite for Service Week with a Lunch N' Learn to discover more about United Way of Greater Atlanta and the work being done to transform our communities with the help of our partners.
Volunteers will also have a unique opportunity to experience our Virtual Poverty Simulation. Participants will be introduced to the day-to-day struggles of living in perpetual poverty. While many individuals understand poverty from a broader perspective, our simulation allows volunteers to embody the roles of various families aiming to achieve a certain level of financial stability.
The purpose of this simulation is to provide a small taste of what life is like on an extremely limited income - joining the 38.1 million U.S. citizens who live, for one reason or another, with incomes below the poverty line.
