The fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are imperative to the future success of our metro Atlanta students. United Way of Greater Atlanta is once again hosting the STEMUp: Youth Maker Competition powered by NCR Foundation and is seeking volunteers for 2024. Through the STEMUp program United Way awards grants for middle and high school students to implement their problem-solving projects.
As a Volunteer Judge at the Live Pitch, you will listen to approximately 6 finalist pitches in person and evaluate each utilizing a rubric of established criteria (such as youth leadership, innovation, outcomes, inclusion). Pitches will be conducted in two rounds. You will help determine how prize money is divvied out in conversation with other judges based on project presentations and needs.
Outside of time spent judging, volunteer judges will be at the award ceremony. Lunch is included.
