The fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are imperative to the future success of our metro Atlanta students. United Way of Greater Atlanta is once again hosting the STEMUp: Youth Maker Competition powered by NCR Foundation and is seeking volunteers for 2024. Through the STEMUp program United Way awards grants for middle and high school students to implement their problem-solving projects.
STEMUp Think Tanks are designed to engage youth in the STEMUp program and encourage them to use their voice and ideas to solve community problems. You do not have to be a STEM subject matter expert to volunteer. Volunteers at our United Way hosted Think Tank will guide small groups of students through an exercise involving community problems and potential solutions with questions and instructions provided.
Youth from all Fayette County schools will be invited to participate. Volunteers will arrive before students for a brief orientation.
